Fishing at Joe Pool Lake
Joe Pool Lake is very popular for its fishing. Many visitors come simply to fish the day away. The primary fish you can find on the line at Joe Pool Lake are Channel Catfish, White Bass, White Crappie, and Large-mouth Bass. When the lake was made, the goal was to create the best fishing habitat possible.
Brush and other cover during construction were intentionally left in place to help promote a healthy, thriving habitat. The lake is fed by the waters of Walnut and Mountain Creeks, causing new fish to flow in from these waters, ensuring there will always be fresh fish added to the habitat. Joe Pool Lake and the surrounding parks have a total of seven boat ramps allowing you to travel out further in the water to fish and enjoy your sunny day on the lake.
